Resifly app FAQ
Answers to common questions about the Resifly app: trips, day counting, reports and data.
About the app
- What is Resifly?
- Resifly is a modern tool for people who live across multiple countries. The app handles the counting for you: it automatically tracks days in each jurisdiction, warns you before you reach tax residency thresholds, and reminds you while there is still time to adjust your plans.
- How do I download Resifly?
- The Resifly app for iPhone and Android is downloaded at /go. On a phone, /go opens the App Store or Google Play.
- Does Resifly send notifications?
- Get notified when important events occur, and keep visa deadlines and document expiry dates under control.
- Is Resifly tax or legal advice?
- General information from resifly.ch — not legal or tax advice. Main Partner Trust experts can guide you through tax, residency aspects and other related matters. mainpartnertrust.com
Trips
- How do I add a trip?
- Open the Trips tab and tap Add trip. Enter the country plus entry and exit dates. You can also fill this in automatically: upload a boarding pass from a photo, PDF, or Apple Wallet, and Resifly will recognize the route and dates.
- Can Resifly read my boarding passes?
- Upload a ticket from a photo, PDF, or Apple Wallet — Resifly recognizes the route, country, and entry/exit dates. You don’t have to add a trip by hand.
- How does route recognition work?
- The app matches flights into a single travel timeline — you can see where you were, when, and how many days you spent in each country.
Day counting
- Which day-count rules does Resifly use?
- Resifly counts according to the logic of each jurisdiction: calendar year, rolling 12 months, or the Schengen 90/180 window — and warns you about overlapping trips and missing dates.
- Why does the day counter differ from my own calculations?
- Resifly counts days using each country’s rules: calendar year, rolling 12 months, or the 90/180 Schengen window. Check that every trip has both dates and no overlaps — the app warns about these cases on the Trips tab. For professional advice, contact our partner mainpartnertrust.com
Reports
- How do I export a report?
- On the Report tab, choose a period and tap Generate report. You get a PDF with a travel table, day counts, and goal status. Optionally add a ZIP archive of supporting documents. The report language is chosen separately from the app language.
- Can I attach supporting documents to a report?
- You can attach an archive of boarding passes and other documents to the report — the full evidence of your travel history in one file.
Data and security
- Where is my data stored?
- Resifly has no accounts or servers. Trips and documents are encrypted and stored locally on the device; access uses your PIN or Face ID. We cannot access your data and do not share it with third parties.
- I forgot my PIN. How do I regain access?
- The PIN is stored only on your device and is the encryption key for your documents, so it cannot be recovered remotely. You will need to reinstall the app and restore data from a previously exported ZIP archive.
- How do I delete all my data?
- To delete everything, simply delete the app — trips, documents, and encryption keys are permanently erased with it.
