Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data ResiFly collects, the purposes for which it is used, with whom it may be shared, and what the user accepts when registering for and using the service.
1. What data we collect
When you register for and use ResiFly, we may collect and process the following data:
- full name;
- email address;
- date of birth (DOB);
- citizenship;
- mobile phone / device model;
- location data (see section 2);
- data the user provides while using the service (for example trips, documents, and residency goals);
- technical data needed for operation, support, security, and analytics of the service.
We collect only data that is necessary for the relevant processing purposes, or that the user voluntarily provides to us.
2. Location data
ResiFly may access location data on the user’s device when the user grants the relevant permission in the operating system.
We use location primarily to determine the country (or approximate region) where the device is located, so that travel-related features can work — for example detecting a country change, suggesting or automatically recording a trip, and showing related prompts. We do not use location data to continuously track the user’s exact position for advertising.
If the user enables features that require it (such as adding trips automatically when the phone’s country changes), ResiFly may also access location while the app is in the background or not in active use (“background location”), so that a country change can be detected without the user opening the app each time. Background location is optional: the user can refuse or later revoke it in the device settings; core trip logging can still be used by entering trips manually.
Location-derived country information may be stored on the device as part of the user’s trip history and related settings. It is processed for operating these features and may be handled under the same rules as other personal data described in this Privacy Policy (including storage in ResiFly infrastructure and sharing with partners where applicable).
The user can withdraw location permission at any time in the device settings. Doing so may disable automatic country detection and related background features until permission is granted again.
3. Where data is transferred
Data provided by the user may be processed and stored in ResiFly infrastructure (resifly.ch) and may also be shared with our partners and service providers when necessary for operating the service or for the purposes described below.
In particular, data may be shared with the following partner:
Main Partner Trust — mainpartnertrust.com
The partner may receive relevant data to provide services, support, analytics, and other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
4. How we use data
Personal data may be used for the following purposes:
Service operation
To register the user, provide access to ResiFly, identify the user, and ensure the service works, including travel and residency features that may use location-derived country information as described in section 2.
User support
To handle requests, provide technical and user support, communicate with the user, and resolve issues.
Analytics
To analyse use of the service, assess its effectiveness, identify technical issues, and improve ResiFly products and features.
Targeted advertising and recommendations
Data may be used to provide more relevant advertising, offers, recommendations, and advice, including through services or recommendations from Main Partner Trust.
Main Partner Trust may use data shared with it for support, analytics, targeted advertising, personalised recommendations, and advice within applicable law and the terms that apply to the relevant service.
5. What the user accepts on registration
Before registering, the user must read this Privacy Policy. By checking the consent checkbox in the app, the user confirms that they:
- have read this Privacy Policy;
- understand what personal data may be collected and processed, including location data when permission is granted;
- agree to processing of the provided data for ResiFly operation, support, and analytics;
- understand that relevant data may be shared with ResiFly and the listed partners, including Main Partner Trust;
- agree to use of the data for the relevant advertising, recommendation, and analytics purposes where permitted by applicable law.
Separate operating-system permission is required before ResiFly can access location (including background location where applicable). Granting or refusing that permission is controlled by the user in the device settings.
If applicable law requires separate consent for a particular type of processing, that consent is requested additionally.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell users’ personal data as a standalone product. Data may be shared with third parties, including partners and service providers, when necessary for:
- operating ResiFly;
- technical maintenance;
- user support;
- analytics;
- security;
- providing advertising or recommendation services;
- complying with legal requirements.
In particular, one of the partners with whom data may be shared is Main Partner Trust.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet can guarantee absolute security.
8. User rights
Depending on applicable law, the user may have the right to:
- obtain information about personal data being processed;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion of data;
- restrict certain types of processing;
- object to certain types of processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- receive a copy of their data where provided by law.
To exercise these rights, the user may contact ResiFly support.
